Office of Technology
Commercialization
Occasionally, work done through
grants leads to patents and commercial potential. Those
researchers work through the Office of Technology Commercialization in order
to realize the full
potential of their discovery. The policy framework that governs this process
can be found at
this link, Intellectual Property Policy.
In order to begin processing copyrightable work or start the
patent process. the researcher must
complete a
Disclosure to the OTC.
This helps documents the circumstances under which
the researcher's work occurred. Other forms are needed, depending on the
research. These can
be found at these links:
Invention Disclosure Form
Software Disclosure Form
Plant Variety Disclosure Form.
